The 201st kannawidan Ylocos Sur 2019


The Province of Ilocos Sur celebrate it's yearly fest which held in the Heritage City of Vigan from 28th of January to 17th of February.
This festivity showcase its being tresured chest of an old and new ilocano history,traditions and culture.It reminds the ilocanos that on February 2,1818 the province of Ilocos Sur became Independent.
Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is open to all residents and visitors to visit and enjoy the festival in ilocos sur.
in behalf of government workers from national to local offices,non-government organization hand-in-hand to unite as one to continued this king of event.
At January 29 2019 at Tamag grounds,Vigan City was the opening of the festival . A lot of activities has been performed by Students and also Techers of different Schools showcasing their talents and abilities.
During the formal opening an Ethic dance called "TADEK" is indigenous opening ritual.while performing the dance the opening of food,trade fairs and exhibits had formally opened for everyone
with the help of Governor Ryan Luis Singson. Gov.Singson acknowledge the aid of the Department of Education head by Gemma Tacuycuy the school division superintendent in conducting some activities where thousands of teachers and students gathered,joined and performed folk dances  and folk songs through competiton
promoting the province indigenous culture,folk musics and arts.
kannawidan festival also have other ancestral culture activities that includes zarzuela show,traditional games and pallot.
the festival not only visualize the talents and abbilities of every ilocandia but also signify the province trade and agriculture products which every part of ilocos sur endorse their own products as one of their livelihood.
one of the spotlight of ilocos sur products is the abel iloco which there was a competition using abel during the fashion show,the evening gown,search for Ms.Saniata.
the festival also offers some of the activities of the new genaration.kannawidan festival does not only offers old traditions and culture bt also the new ilocano taditions and culture.
